Progressing Iyengar Yoga Classes

Class Description

Progressing (Level 1) Yoga Classes

Our Progressing classes are for those who have completed 10 weeks of the Beginners Course or the equivalent and looking at establishing a more consistent and progressive approach to their yoga practice. Level 1 classes are ongoing, meaning you can enrol at any time.

The weekly content is taught as a weekly progression.

The Progressing level consolidate foundational poses from the beginners’ level such as standing poses and shoulder-stand, and progress into more upper body poses with preparation for inversions. At this level we introduce more dynamic standing postures, forward bends, back bends and twists and work on preparation for head balance. The different asana groups will be prioritised at different times as well as more emphasis is given to relaxation and basic breath work.
